GREECE & TURKEY TRAVEL DIARY PART ONE
Here's my first round-up of images from our incredible vacation sailing between Greece and Turkey. I'm not sure the beauty of this vacation can be captured by photos, but hopefully you get a sense of what it is like with each of these photo diaries. We chartered a yacht from Helm with eight of our best friends and island hopped among Greece and Turkey. We saw some of the most breathtaking scenery, swam in some of the bluest waters and visited some of the most charming towns! It was an incredible way to vacation and have the opportunity to visit lots of different places.
When most people think of Greece, they think of Mykonos or Santorini, which don't get me wrong, I am dying to visit, but there are so many other beautiful places in Greece. If you ever get a chance to visit Greece, I would highly recommend Symi, Kos and Rhodes.
SYMI- A charming island with gorges, colorful buildings surrounding the main port. We only spent a few hours in this delightful city, but it's hours that I will never forget. I could have wandered around this cute city for hours. Stop in any of the boutiques or dine waterside with a breathtaking view of the sunset.
KOS- A little big larger of an island than Symi, Kos would be considered the island of nightlife. We spent our time lounging on the colorful beach with fruity cocktails in hand and finished the evening visiting some of the local hotspots. With the little that we saw of Kos, it was an amazing island with lots to see and do.
RHODES- Rhodes, the largest isalnd of the three, was the island that we flew into and the island that our boat docked from. We spent almost two full days in Rhodes and did a lot of exploring. My main suggestion would be to head to Elli Beach and swim out to the diving platform in the middle of the water. It was seriously so fun and we all had a blast doing this. The beach is beautiful but super pebbly, so make sure you wear shoes. There is also a great market in the center of town with tons of restaurants and shopping.
