CATALOOCHEE RANCH VOW RENEWAL

I am sorry in advance for the surplus of pictures, but this is truly a special moment for me, and one that I am especially thrilled to share on the blog. This past weekend, my siblings and I surprised my parents with a vow renewal ceremony celebrating their 34 years of marriage. It truly was a magical moment for my family and it is definitely a memory that I will treasure forever.

All of my siblings and I had been planning what my dad thought was a suprise birthday weekend for my mom (who is turning 60 at the end of this month) in the mountains. What he didn't know was that we had a few tricks up our sleeves and were planning on surprising him as well. We found my mom the perfect dress and even found time to whip up a few gorgeous flower crowns for the bridesmaids! We held the ceremony at the most picturesque spot at the Cataloochee Ranch in Maggie Valley, NC (be on the lookout for a post later this weekend recapping our stay at the ranch).

My Grandpa walked my Mom down the aisle and it was the sweetest thing ever! I can definitely picture how cute they must have been on their actual wedding day 34 years ago.

My sister MacKenzie is an incredibly talented musician and did all of the music for the ceremony (she even went to school for songwriting before her passions shifted in another direction). It was especially wonderful for me because she sang an original song that she wrote and played at my wedding.

Vows are officially renewed! Are they not the cutest thing in the entire world?

We were thrilled and honored to have Reverend Staley, a hero of my dad's and an incredible man, officiate the ceremony.

Are my brother and sister-in-law not the cutest thing you have ever seen?

My brother Chase who is in the army and is stationed in CO had originally told my Dad that he wasn't going to be able to make it. He surprised my parents a few days early and if you know anything about my dad, you would not be surprised to hear that he wept!

The day truly wouldn't have happened without my sister's best friend Makayla! She was our incredible photographer, errand runner and flower crown maker, and we were truly blessed to have had her help.

I can't even begin to describe how thankful I am for these seven people! It was truly a weekend that I will hold in my heart forever. Each of my siblings and I were raised by two phenomenal people who value love, laughter, faith and family. They have spent 34 years learning from one another and growing together, and showing each of us what love truly looks like. The world is a much better place because Chuck and Karen Wilson are in it.
