AQUA BY EL GAUCHO

If you haven't heard, food in Seattle is AHMAZING. Weekend dinners have become quite the constant struggle because of the vast array of delicious restaurant options. I have had a list of superior restaurants that have come highly recommended by others since moving to Seattle and have been doing my best to try them all. AQUA by El Gaucho was definitely on the list, so I was thrilled when Ben suggested it for a sunny summer evening.

AQUA is owned and operated by famed Seattle steak house, El Gaucho, and I knew it was going to be delicious. Let's just say it definitely lived up to my expectations. We enjoyed a wonderful evening on the outdoor patio overlooking the water. If you are looking for waterfront dining in Seattle, AQUA's views of Elliott Bay are unlike any other. We went on a Thursday evening and were treated to a front row seat of the Downtown Sailing Series. We dined on delicious food as 100's of sail boats drifted past us. It was truly so cool.

On to the food and drinks. I knew the food was going to be delicious, but I wasn't expecting the cocktails to be as amazing as they were. I sipped on the Morado Margarita ( a slightly spicy blackberry margarita) and Ben enjoyed a traditional Manhattan. We followed drinks with a round of tasty starters including the Tenderloin Diablo and the Mussels. For our entrees, I had the Filet and ben chose the Halibut. They were accompanied by a multitude of sides but our favorite was the Macaroni and Cheese. Since I ALWAYS leave room for dessert, we capped off the evening with the Bailey's Chocolate Caramel Bread Pudding (it was as yummy as it sounds). The whole meal was beyond delicious!

It's moments like these that make me fall more and more in love with Seattle! You just can't beat dinner on the water with mountains as your backdrop and delicious food in your belly! Thanks AQUA for an evening i'll never forget.
